Anyone have any experience with some screencast software? (ie software that captures a video of your screen for demos and the sort) I'd like to hear both good and bad experiences.
I'm specifically looking for something for the Mac, but feel free to talk about anything you've used, as I'm sure it will help someone.
I've found this software: http://shinywhitebox.com/home/home.html
I downloaded the demo, but haven't tried it out quite yet.

There was an article about this in the Linux Magazine in September. They have the article archived at http://www.linux-magazine.com/issue/70/Bitparade_Screencast_Tools.pdf with about 5 recommendations.

There's wink: http://www.debugmode.com/wink/, which is good, but only seems to export movies to full-screen size which look awful if you scale them down. Maybe I'm missing some options menu
heebie.co.uk has arrived. Don't get the heebie jeebies.

Wink's pretty good. I have used Camtasia, but a lot of that is available for Mac already as part of the iMovie suite. You really just need a good screen capture tool to get started. Then you can edit the movie with whatever tools you like. On the Windows side, Windows Media Encoder has a free screen capture capability. VMWare Workstation is also really good for screen casting from a guest operating system.
