Greetings, I have been following a tutorial found at http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=280652 to convert videos to flash for better compatibility online. The only problem is when I try to convert a WMV file to FLV, it strips out the sound. Here is the output the command gives while encoding:

It says the audio channel is WMA v2, and according to ffMPEG's documentation, this format is supported. If anyone has any tips or a better program for converting, please share them. Thanks in advance.

I remember finding a stand-alone FLV converter sometime last year but I don't remember what it was called. Do you have access to a windows box at all or would you prefer to do this only through Ubuntu? I'm guessing that tool was windows only but you never know...

I would prefer a Linux application, but I do have a dual-boot, so a WinXP program would work since I don't do this every day.

I did find a way to get this file converted. I used http://www.zamzar.com/. It's a cool site that converts files from one format to another. This site is good enough for me for now, although I am still searching for a program that will do it on my computer.

It's inexpensive and works great. It even produces the flash file that holds the video controls.
