Is there a way I can password protect one file securely? Either using PHP or some feature in control panel... There only needs to be one password, not necessarily a username and no group permissions. Just a password protected file. (No I don't want to put it in another directory)

What type of file is it?
Ultimately, I think another directory with .htaccess will be best as one can get around most other password protection easily!
