I have an asp page set up to expire immediately so as to ensure that the page is produced from the server (IIS on my machine). However my local cache folder is not cleared out. I have settings within the page itself and the server to expire the content but neither is affecting my cache folder. The http headers suggest the cache is empty.
Any ideas why this is happening?

I could be wrong, but I believe that this varies from computer to computer - in other words, for the page to truly be cleared from the cache, the visitor will have to actually do a SHIFT + [RELOAD], or clear the cache manually.
