Hi! Hopefully this is where this thread goes.

I'm looking for a program that will tell me the download time of pages on 56k, 28.8 etc. I know FrontPage will tell you but I HATE FrontPage.

Is there even such a program??

Thanks!

There comes a software with Windows that tells you that... it's called "Calculator".

Calculator on Windows can tell you that?! How do you do it there?

CuteHTML will tell you that, it comes bundled with CuteFTP.

If you know the total filesize, and download rate, and are comfortable with doing arithmetic in your head, you don't even need Calculator. Wink

There are emulator utilities around that simulate pages loading on various speeds I have/had one here somewehre but it isn't currently installed and I forget the name of it. I obviously haven't used it in ages.

If I trip across it I'll post back but try googling - that's likely how I found the thing to begin with.

I wasn't aware CuteFTP showed this.

I just want something that will show me the info I want quickly. I don't really have time to think about calculating myself. I was just looking for a quicker, lazier way.

With so many projects on the go you just want to be able to see what you want without having to think about it too much Laughing out loud

Found it!

WebSpeed Simulator

They changed the name of the app from WebSpeed Optimizer which is likely why I had trouble finding it Laughing out loud

It really becomes second nature eventually which is why the app is no longer installed on my machines. Even the math is unnecessary - you just develop a feel for weight and bloat

I believe Dreamweaver can do it. Also try netmechanic.com They have some tools like that.
