Dunno where this thread belongs so i posted it here Confused

anyway, i spoke to my friend the other day about getting 3D Studio Max as i was interested in taking things further but my friend told me to get Maya instead.

I wanted to know if anyone has tried this program and if they recommend it?

I know its pricey but i can get my company to finance it (Wink) so dont criticise the prices Smiling

I think it's up to each person's personal taste. Some perfer 3D Studio Max and some perfer Maya. You shouldn't listen to other people, go with the one you're most comfortable with and that you think suits you the best.

Good luck.

Maya is an awesome program and an industry standard in films and commercials but I think that zollet has offered some great advice.

3DStudio Max is also a great program and I think that many game developers prefer it to Maya.

My feeling is that it really depends on what you are trying to do and the industry you are working in; I always prefer to go with the industry standard.
