Does anyone know how to make a website counter?

what are you options? are you able to use server side (PHP, ASP, CGI etc), want it in a database, flat file or hosted from another site?

sorry i dont have any of those options. which one of those (database, flat file, or hosted from another site) do you recomemd which would be the easiest.

If you don't have a server-side language available, hosted from another site is your ONLY option.

Another option is to use a free one that is hosted on another server, although I don't know how reliable they are. fastcounter by msn is a really good one. Can anyone recommend any free counters vs. SPECIFIC counter scripts. People love to post links to counter script pages, how about recommending one specific script?
