how can i able my visitors to sign-up first before they can enter a certain page of my website? you know like in
a forum..you should sign up first for an account and then your in! pls. someone reply to this a.s.a.p i will appreciate it much

If you plan to allow different names/passwords you'll need a database to keep records of these, otherwise you can just use javascript but the username and password would be visible in the source code

Also, a lot of web host control panels will let you set up directory-level protection, with username(s) and password(s). You might poke around in your control panel and see if that's possible.

The biggest disadvantage is that (as far as I know), with that method, there's no way later to see who's signed on. All it does is allow access to everything in that folder.
