I'm currently looking for a good free link directory script. I've looked at a couple that I liked but there is always something missing.
What I want
users can submit links
categories and subcategories
discriptions of links (preferably categories as well but not necessary)
link approval by admin (email notification)
Easily move links to different categories
Admin can add link directly without having to go through approval
It's the last item I am having trouble finding.

You probably wont find anything exactly what your after (have you checked hotscipts.com)
You could easily add the last feature your looking for, a little project like this is a great way to learn what ever language the code is in, this way if anything ever goes wrong or you want to change it you know what, where, how and why.
