I am going to have some of the pages on my web site translated into different languages. They will probably just translate into word or something like that so I need to know what tools I need to actually place the characters and words on my website so that they show up in the different languages. Does anyone know how to do this? Do I just need to get that language installed on my pc?

It's not as simple as "installing a language". There are a few translation programs you can buy that will make the translations for you . You give it English text and it will spit out the Spanish, French, or German version. Check out http://www.translation-experts.com/ for one.
However, find someone who speaks the language to go over the results. I work for a large company and we use Berlitz to translate our sites. There can be many translations for the same English word in any given language.
Let's just say you never want to go live using the word "movement" the wrong way in French.
