I am in the process of building a speciality joke site and I have about 50 jokes, pictures and insults. Once the visitor looks at everthing, they will leave. I don't have enough jokes where I can just add a new one every day. I have a poll, and I don't want a forum until I start getting heavy traffic.

What are some of the thing I can (or webmasters in general) do to keep visitors coming back?

All comments and suggestions are welcome!!!

Well, you could stagger the release of the jokes/images put out a few new ones every week, or maybe a newsletter type thing. Let users submit their own jokes, etc.

Newsletter sounds good. You need to add more everyday. Tell people to check back everyday. Keep adding new things like aim Icons and anything funny.

Get more jokes! There are millions of websites all over the net that contain thousands of jokes! How difficult can it be?

Get a joke submitting script whereby jokes will be added into your DB under your approval. With it, you dont have to scratch your head looking for jokes everyday and you're just a button away from filling ur daily job.

The problem is, there aren't any more jokes on the net about the subject (I'm not telling you what it is though) I have spent several hours searching for new ones but I have all of them. So adding more jokes is out of the question. I'll think of something...

But, for other types of sites, what keeps visitors coming back?
