I'm an obsessive mac user. The operating system is very freindly and efficient. Once you've been using it for a while you'll never want to go back. Also because it's unix based it's ideal for running a test web server as well (plus before you know it you'll be learning unix basics like command line n stuff which is always helpful for web designers/developers).

OSX isn't so great for playing games but the beauty of macs is that now they run on intel processors you can duel boot into Windows and it runs as fast as a normal PC.

A few months back, I switched from using Windows since Windows 3.1 to a Mac. It's fantastic! Applications tend to integrate together much better and there are much, much fewer crashes. Plus Apple tends to go that extra mile with their software. The only real downside is that third party support, while there, is much less than Windows. ie There are fewer apps overall. But I still have yet to have any real problem finding an app to replace some functionality I had on my Windows machine.

Interesting position there, with graphics, I would definitely recommend a Mac but you also want it for gaming so I'd be more leaning towards a Windows PC although, it really does depend on what games you want to play. Do you know of the games that you want to play are available on a Mac as well?

For you, your best bet might be a Windows machine as you can do your graphics and still game as well.

Don't forget, now you can run Windows on your Mac through Boot Camp or Parallels. So you can use the Mac's OS for stability, then boot up Windows just to play games.

That's what I do.

Was upon a time i would have said a Mac was outta the question, because I was a gamer. Now I dont play games much anymore so its back in play...There damn expensive though for what you get still, hardware wise, and to be honest, i dont think the problems that plague PC land are anything like most people make out...to the average user I mean.

Id like a Mac though, care to donate one? Laughing out loud

Well, since you want it to play games then a PC would be the better choice but if you don't find it too difficult to get Windows running on a MAc then I'd reccomend that you get the mac.

What it proves is that you need to look at what you'll be using the computer for.

Great fun... I am a PC user mind, not a MAC. I guess it comes down to what it is you want to do.

I'm a Mac person Smiling

I don't really do much in the way of design, video editing, etc. but I generally find that Mac applications integrate better. Plus they are usually faster. (slightly)
