Right then,
I have a client who have around 70 retail stores around the country. They have asked for a facility for their site where they can type in a postcode and the resulting list will display the nearest stores from the Database.
The site is managed by a CMS system running ASP to pull the store details off SQL server. Adding the exact location of the store (grid ref. etc) would not be a problem but I need a way to match this against the postcode.
Here's the rub, they are unwilling to pay through the nose for it!
Any ideas?
BTW They are in the UK so it would have to UK postcodes...

This isn't a lot of help, but contact the post office for information. I'm sure you're not the first vendore requiring this information.

Yep did that.
Thaey are willing to license the PAF database for around £2,500 per year. OUt of my clients reach unfortunately.
Well not out of their reach as they must have a turnover in excess of £10 Million / year but they don't view the web as a priority. It was tough enough getting them to do the site in the first place!

Well, DW has an extension availeble for it that includes all the UK postal codes and is connectable to a DB.
