This may be in the wrong forum but I've got a problem with WS_FTP. I switched to a new host and suddenly when uploading my files to the new server, it seems like my sessions are closing on me all the time. I may have the wrong termonology but I used to be able to not access the remote server (upload, download, reload) for about five full minutes before it timed me out and I'd have to reconnect. But now it seems that if I blink to slowly I'm screwed. Seriously like 15 seconds idle time will time me out.

Since this is the same WS_FTP as before, I'm thinking that it may have to do with my new host. Is it something in WS_FTP? Or is there a setting in cPanel or WMH that I can adjust to give me more idle time between uploads?

Thanks Smiling

Nip it in the bud!

open ws_ftp (don't connect) you should have 4 tabs on the connect panel, click the 'advanced' tab and in the middle is 'network_timeout' default I think is about 60

Like Busy says on the ws_ftp end but I'm inclined to think it might be a server config. Some of mine shut me down pretty quickly on idle time while others are more forgiving. I don't think I've got any as severe as 15 seconds though!

Same problems with WS_FTP here! I've been looking around at others, even serious about purchasing one (but don't want the WS_FTP Pro after all the trouble I have with it), and it's so difficult to decide!? There are so many that offer free versions to try, it's tough to pick one out. Any suggestions/recommendations?
