Free visit counter vs installed on server

what do you think about this:
is it better to use a free visit counter (like statscounter) or to install one on our own server (like piwik)

I don't really like visitor counters but I'd go for an installed on your own server jobby. But I'd definatly recommend using google analytics or a similar thing to accuratly analyse your traffic!

Well our web hosting provider i.e. 4goodhosting provide us free visit counter so don't need to buy or install any other.
