Hi there,
I have a small flash intro at the start of my site with some links within it to enable users to choose which language they require and therefore to also skip the intro. It works fine in firefox, but in explorer you seem to have to click on the movie first to activate it and then click on the link to move on (double clicking). It's not a big problem but it's irritating. Is there any way round this?
Thanks

What HTML code are you using to embed the flash? I'm guessing you're only using or . For a proper cross browser solution you have to use both.

You can thank software idea patents for this one. A company called Eolas sued Microsoft for--get this--having plugins in it's browser. Unfortunately it is now illegal to use plugins in software (unless you pay ridiculous licensing fees). Some companies have tried to get around it by forcing users to click plugin content before they're allowed to use it.
There is a fix for it, unfortunately there is no fix for software idea patents being a totally stupid idea.
