i currently have a yahoo email account and wanted to download messages using thunderbird and generally use it as a email client. But yahoo does not allow you to do that unless you pay. Does anyone know of any other online email services that will allow me to do this for free?

It does allow you to do it

I think most (if not 99%) of online email accounts provide you their POP details so you can receive message into your PC client
and if they don't provide them you can usually "GET" them yourself

Worth noting that Hotmail is one of those 1% that won't. They used to (probably before they were bought-out by Microsoft, in the good old days). Smiling

Sounds about right for MS. keep everything tightly in their own clutches in fear of losing a customer.

You used to be able to view Hotmail in Outlook by creating a Hotmail folder and associating a 'web view' for that folder and making it point to the hotmail website.
Which I believe works for all HTTP based email services. That might be what you speak of that is no longer available.
But even if it's still available it doesnt help benf, as me he uses Thunderbird.

foreach (MS as $product => $reliability) {echo "usless";} Laughing out loud
