Hi, i am thinking of buying the domain tbobkertechnologies.com but do you think that it is to long, should i just go for tbobker. the nature of the site will be web solutions, and tbobker technologies sounds good although if the domain is different to the name of the site then people will be confused?
Or is the domain not really that important as long as its easy to remember?

That's a bit of a confusing name IMO! It's mainly the tbobker bit I have trouble with; not very memorable. tbobt.com is a bit easier, or just tbob.com.
You may even want a second domain for doing marketing to Google, websolutions____.com - replace the ____ with the city/region you live in.

Some tips, although it can be pointed out that memorable words are good domain names and its better if it actually means something either as an acronym or a word from some other language... also I suggest that if you decide to use the longer domain version as you have said then opt for something like webmaster-forums as opposed to webmasterforums... adding that dash makes it more useful for SEO(search engine optimization) puporses...

People rely on bookmarks way to much, and I am no different to anyone else.
This site has a fairly easy name to remember, but never having to type it in for many years can lead to memory problems. A while ago I lost all my bookmarks, no back up, well there was one but stupid dvd drive wouldn't read the cd. I actually found the site on 2nd or 3rd attempt (used _ instead of - and forgot the 's' on forums).
In your case, how about shorting it down to: ttech (or t-tech) or ttechlog (or t-techlog) or similar
