Can adblockers be config'd to block hard-coded links?

Hi all,

I'm thinking of switching from javascript adserving to just hand-coding the text link ads right into the page. I only have a few ads, that run for the entire week, so it's not much extra work. I feel it's worth it, since now my ads will also reach that percentage of surfers who have adblockers installed. (Dastardly, I admit. But I'm poor and they're benefitting from my labor for free!)

However, I still want to track clicks, so I'm gonna use one of those php click trackers that append a string in front of the link.

So I'm wondering: could an adblocker can be configured to 'erase' these links from showing up on the page? Since it's easy to identify an ad as any link that starts with "http://site.com/clickcounter/?q="

What do you think?

Thanks

Go to google adsense or google adwords, you can track your clicks that way and google does all the work for you.

Ad blockers can easily block google ads so that defeats the purpose. I don't think any type of ad blocker can be configured to block those links. To the software, that looks like a normal link.

Why are you so concerned about ad blockers? Not very many people have them, at least I don't think they do.

I want to maximize ad exposure. I'm a small site, so every extra click means a lot.
