I was wondering I have seen on various blogger, blogs where people have placed the 300 X 250 google ad sense code with in the post. Every time I attempt this I am told that java script is not allowed with in the post?? So how are those people doing this??

It's probably because you're using a free blogspot account... I should imagine they restrict stuff like that in order to encourage people to upgrade

You can place ads on Blogger. It is very easy. Just go to the search box and search for help on adsense. You will get many answers relevant to your question. They also have a help blog to help you with these needs.

I feel that blogspot doesn't allow this option. I'm unaware of the flexibilty with blogger.com
