Are browser hacks unethical?

While looking for a hack for an IE6 bug, I found that some people consider browser hacks unethical. I can't figure out why. What do you think?

Unethical? I can't see why that would be. Problematic, yes. The problem with many hacks is that they target deficiencies or different ways of supporting things in certain browsers - what if another browser comes up that handles things the same way? Then you've got problems.

I prefer to use IE conditional comments to server different CSS to IE where necessary. The others aren't normally a problem for me.
