Hi, I'm rather new at webmastering, and currently operate a free forum. I want to move over to a pay site, so I can have better control of the forum and chats.
This is my situation.
Site setup: BBS and chat forum
Needs: Install own BBS, chat and security ware.
24/365 email/phone tech support.
Enough bandwidth and disk space for the below.
Special configuration: FrontPage 98/2000 and one other software with special MIME extensions.
Price per month: $25 to $35
Site pages: Welcome page -- around 26k
10 Sub pages -- around 200k
Background sound (40k to 300k)
Regular members: Starting @ 50
Regular chatters: Around 15
Posting stats (projecting): Starting @ 50 members (more expected)
3 visits a day per member
3 - 5k posts a day per member
4+mbs of posts a month
48+mbs a year.
3 year post archive
Chat stats (projecting): Starting @ 15 chatters
2 weekly chats / 4 hrs total -- moderated
With that, does anyone have an idea which hosting company would do? I'm more worried about bandwidth than anything else, as I project at least 1000 hits per month. Like a enough bandwidth left over in case an extra promo/event takes place.
Appreciate any pointers too.
