Ive been checking them out but so much for free - they charge $10pmnth for your own domain - mycompany.com
Any other ideas;
require;
20-50MB
ftp upload
own cgi
reasonable speed and service - accept that free means a compromise here.
>5MB individual file size allowed.
Also I want to recommend the same solution to clients so they can have a free host as well...
Any suggestions?

Check freewebspace.net (has a searchable db of free hosts).

I think http://www.Hypermart.net is the best free host. They have CGI not sure if they have as much space as you need though.

I used them briefly back in 1999. But, if you're going to pay for your domain, you might as well go with a company that specializes in this like 000domains.com and HostRocket.com. Good luck!

I used VirtualAVE a while back for one of my sites, and found them to be one of the better free hosts that I've used in my life. Sure, tech support took a while to reply, but what do you expect from a free host? I'd say if you're going to go with a free host then definitely consider them...
