Hi all,

I need some free or cheap web hosting suggestions, if you know any. My budget per year for paid hosting would be about $70 usd/year. If the host comes with a free domain the budget is $80 usd/year. The hosting should at least have the following features.

- php (version 4 or 5)
- mysql (at least 5 databases)
- sendmail ON
- safemode OFF
- 300 mb storage
- 5 GB bandwidth/month
- host multiple domains
- no adds or just a text link
- cost less than $70 or $80 usd/year

Hosts I have tried
000webhost.com Plain
+sendmail ON safemode OFF
-lots of downtime

myhosting247.com Plain
+offers 20 mysql databases!!
-no sendmail ON/safemode OFF

hyperphp.com Sad
-BAD lots of Adds

Thanks for any help you give in advance. If you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask!

So do you want free or cheap?

Free and cheap suggestions are welcome.
If I can find a reliable free host I might stay. If not I will have to dish out some dough for cheap hosting.

Free can be a little different from above like 2GB bandwidth, 100mb storage, banner add. But I do not want pop-ups. Of coarse downtime will be higher.

Cheap hosting budget is $70-80 per year.

Hope that clears it up a little bit.

Also Here is a rating system
best = Angel
good = Smiling
OK = Plain
bad = Sad
terrible = Cry

I have also tried freezoka.com. Smiling
+ phpsafemode OFF/sendmail ON
+ 7 mysql/300mb storage/10GB bandwidth
? reseller for byet

Just register a basic package and then email me on

Good Evening everyone, (well its 08:08M at my end in england).
I took a look at the above post and thought i would do a little research on www.hostmonster.com and this is what i have come back with.

There were a few reviews which did make hostmoster a little bad,

Un-reliable Hosting!

"My web site has been down all day, it's a business site and this is costing me money. First they said it would be back up in a half hour, then they said 8 hours, now they say they don't know when. When I asked them about reliability and why they don't have any redundancy in their servers they said that for what they charge this is what you get. Well, I'm not going to stay with them much longer...."

Undependable Host

"1) Email repeatedly has trouble being sent due to "server problems" 2) Site is down for 6+ hours: due to "server problems" 3) When we had some problems with SMF forum software, an HM tech person falsely stated that it was being discontinued. "

Warning!!!! BE PREPARED TO BE SHOCKED

I was looking for more reviews and i found this. If you all remember the troubles everyone is having with Bluehost. Well read this...

Hello, and welcome to this Hostmonster web hosting review. In this review I will be taking a look at Hostmonster. Hostmonster was the brain child of Matt Heaton, Matt runs a number of different hosting companies, the companies that I'm aware of are Hostmonster, Bluehost and fast Domain, there may be more out there as well, who knows! In total Matt's companies (including Hostmonster) now host over 850,000 domains worldwide.

According to this above document, which is stated on the other website which is left as its source. The same bloke that owns and runs Bluehost, also runs the other hosting companies which are badly rated and are well known to be bad.
I bet he is not happy that this is now known, EH.

LOL

I continued to move about some sights and see what other reviews there were and still i found lots of bad. I looked further and found a good review in the end...

9 months on, Hostmonster has proved reliable, I like their control panel, and the chance to park many domains means it is a really economical way of running several websites within one package. The $50 rebate offer from ConsumerWebHostReview sounded too good to be true, but it came through promptly, like clockwork. Definitely worth signing up through this route. Thanks guys.

Source: Consumer Web Review

Don't hesitate to use Hostmonster. Their quick setup and free domain are great. I hope to be with them for a long time. i think my site has finally found a home.

Source: Consumer Web Review

So, that just about concludes my little review and info on host monster.

After everything, i would not recommend them since a vast majority of them are very bad or bad.

Good luck in the search for a host.

Best Regards,
Mike

I have taken a few more looks at Netsperience.org and i am still convinced that they have some great deals with there hosting and since Netsperience.org are known to have a good reputation in website design and coding; i would not put it pass them, that they also now provide a good website hosting service.

Anyone who is interested, check them out.

I already have some website hosting with other hosts but i am thinking about moving over at some point. I may move to them, when my hosting is due to expire.

How about 1and1.com. They have some good plans for my criteria. Has anyone used them. If they are good I have it narrowed down to these choices by taking suggestions and by my own research.

Wow, I didn't know about hostsvault at all I will do more research later. But their plans are good for the price. I also forgot about rsdarkness.com (sorry) I am also dropping namecheap (seen some pretty bad reviews about uptime, good domain host though) but anyways the new list:

Rsdarkness & Netsperience also have free domains with there hosting and many other bonuses aswell. It comes with a great website builder (See A Sample Site) which i am making in the rsdarkness site builder.

I guess everyone is doing there best this time of year...

I just need basic features listed here but thanks for the info. Smiling

@OP: dude you want a lot for little money. 80 bucks a year... It is... nothing

I think you should look up several companies which are considered as the cheapest and get to know how much will you have to spend...

I can suggest MMhosting.com as one of those who are cheap...
