I currently run a website however I am not happy with my current host for a number of reasons. I am with BT Business at the moment and there hosting packages force you to use their own website temples, which are very tacky IMO and secondly, they don’t allow HTML, which causes allot of problems and restrictions for me.
I am looking for a new host and the following is what I am looking for from a host. I would be extremely grateful if someone could recommend a host that fits my needs.
I need:
I need 100% control on how my website looks. I do not want to be forced into using Temples or anything else.
I am no expert on HTML coding; I would like a host that allows me to edit my page simply. For example, rather than using coding, I would like to be able to do it by say “File – Insert Picture – Link picture to” etc, rather doing this by building codes.
I would like a host that does allow me to insert HTML coding so I can run external applications on my webpage.
I am looking to spend a maximum of £50 per year, however if I can get the above on a reliable host for less money, that would be great.
Thanks in advance for any help. If anyone is unclear on what I am looking for from the information then please do ask and I will try to further explain or give an example of my requirements.

Hello,
I can recommend you a couple of solutions.
For free:
Blogger (with the right templates you can make it look not like a blog, but a company site)
Wordpress - pretty much the same deal, only nicer templates and code there.
000webhost.com - includes a "simple web site builder", really good quality hosting.
Payed:
Hostgator - includes all you need + a decent web site builder. 5 dollars per month / 60 per year.
000webhost.com - gives you the "advanced web site builder" and more dedicated support. Again, 5 dollars per month / 60 per year.
And you could also check out Wix if you are looking for a free flash web site builder.

I can recommend the guys I am with.
I used to use UKLinux.net, who I was with for about eight years.
They offered up to 50 Domain names on one hosting package and, at the time they were pretty cheap. I got a really excellent service out of them and they were pretty helpful.
However, at a cost of 300 GBP a year, they soon got too pricey for me and I moved to Hostmonster (follow the links in my sig).
They have a huge selection of addons for things like Joomla, Wordpress and Drupal and have a forum where you can directly ask current users of their experiences, good and bad. (See localbuz.com for details)
They're probably not the cheapest, but they offer a Postgres Database as well as the more usual MySQL and I'm very happy with them. They also throw in a free .CON domain name as part of the package.
If you decide to use them, please (if you don't mind), go through the links on my site, as it will generate a small return for me and won't cost you anything.
I'm not recommending my hosts anymore until they sort out my hacked sites

I suggest you 4goodhosting, one of the best web hosting company in canada. I have this site www.konkast.com and i have been with them for the last 4 years and never have any problems with them. Their support staff is always available online and always help even if you get stuck in a problem like html coding or PHP coding. They are really reasonable in price and also offer free domain name.

regarding hosting, it is very hard.
I usually chose based on reviews, based on peoples opinions.
Because it happened to me that i had cheapest hosting ever, i was happy for that money, but after a while they deleted my entire websites because i violated one TOS rule ("the number of multimedia files (pictures) not more than 60% of total number of files") and i had an web design/showcase blog.
You realize that i was completely ruined because i couldn't get a single backup from them.
But at least they could have suspended the website or sent an email or something, but not deleting it.

That almost defeats the purpose of web hosting
Have you thought about using a CMS? You get the power of a custom made website but you do not need any HTML knowledge. There are many fantastic CMS available right now such as Wordpress, Joomla and Drupal.
As far as web hosting goes pretty much any web host meets your requirements.
