Most logos start with the idea of bringng the business more close the
expectations of the intended audience. The output of the logo greatly
depends on the what the business is actually expecting, what are the
priorities of the business and what are the specific things it wants to

When you look at logos you realize that the best ones are really simple images, but when you try to create your own it's a really difficult thing to get right. Well worth getting professional design support if you can afford it, and no, I'm not a logo designer touting for work, just a web designer who can design websites but who can't design a decent logo!

You give your identity a name and then you give your name a face. That face is your logo. It helps people identify you easily. Be clear about the message you want your brand to convey so that your logo can clearly reflect that message. You must have a strong association between your brand and your logo. Maintain brand consistency, e.g., use your logo always in the same way on all marketing materials.

Author Dan Roam talks about making your ideas fit on the back of a napkin. The same should be true of your logo. It should be so simple that anyone can sketch it on a napkin over lunch. It's tempting to include a bunch of elements in your logo, not too different from corporate mission statements where you try to cram everything you do into one, tiny package. Don't. Step back and let it resonate. If there's no space, no simplicity then the logo will never connect with people in a meaningful, emotional way.
