Greetings:

I'm doing some work on my site, and want my video clip to be non-ie friendly. I did some google- and yahoo-ing on this subject and came to the conclusion that if I include .wmv and .mov (Windows Media Player and Quicktime) that I will reach most users.

Have a come to a correct conclusion? I appreciate your input.

Best,

By non-ie friendly you mean cross-browser compatible, right? When I first read that I thought you meant not IE friendly!

WMV is a windows-only format so that's not too cross-platform friendly. I think the Linux people find that real player works well for them (?). YouTube videos are done using Flash, which is good because it's really widely available. I find that they work really well on Opera/Win. The problem is that there are some problems with Linux because the latest version of the player isn't available on Linux.

So, it can't hurt to provide a few different formats.

Laugh . Guess I could've chosen a better choice of words. Yes, I want to be compatible with browsers IN ADDITION to IE.
