How do you put foreign text on a site?

For instance: If I want to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year is Chinese or Japanese... how do you do that? I want to have it on my site and not linked over to another site for translation.

I have tried Babel Fish but all I get is squares for a translation for some languages. I was going to copy and paste it to my site. Some languages I get and can paste over but some I can't.

Also happens when I put some foreign text into a graphic program... it doesn't recognize it so it makes it either squares or question marks.

Anyone been through this? Thanks

I think the user (in this case yourself) would have to have the language packs installed.

Just a note - doing a translation in BabelFish or any other automatic translation service will give you a rubbish translation. It will be totally grammatically incorrect and may not even make sense in the other language. Either get someone to do it or find a website that lists a set of grammatically correct translations.
