I have a web page on a CD, which lists a series of links to several pdf files on the same CD. I tested it on my computer before burning it to the disk, and the links open fine, regardless which browser I use. Now that it's on the CD, the pdf links won't open in Internet Explorer - I click the link, but nothing happens, no error message, nothing. But the links do work when I use Firefox.... I need it to work in IE, as that's the browser the client will primarily be using.
I've checked my settings, double-checked the path names, tried it on different computers.... I can't figure it out.
Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas what I can do to fix it?
Thanks!
Rob

Well, I still haven't been able to solve the problem, but I've found a way around it. Basically I created a MS Word version of the index and saved it as a Web Page. Everything works fine in IE with this version - BUT, now the pdf links don't work in Firefox!
So I created two pages - the MS Word/Web Page version for IE users, and an html version for non-IE users. When the user inserts the CD into their computer, a title page comes up with two links: "Internet Explorer users click here" and "Firefox and other browser users click here".
Problem not solved, but mitigated.
