I just found out about istockphoto.com through a friend, and it looks amazing! .50/image! Are there others available like this? Gettyimages.com has higher quality, but also with a much higher price tag, which I am not interested in.

I also have http://www.sxc.hu/ bookmarked, but have never used it.

Hi,

Try squiver.com, corbris.com, or arttoday.com.

Cheers,

the stock xchange site (sxc.hu) that you've mentioned is a great source of free, royalty-free images, and it's content is growing all of the time.

there are some smaller sites where you may find the odd image:
http://www.ppdigital.com/free/gallery/
http://www.morguefile.com/ (nothing to do with morgues!!)

i use gettyimages often - yes, they are expensive (i just charge my clients), then they are a professional image library - and it's just a case of you get what you pay for! sad but true.
