Help Please - Banner Rotation

Okay , let’s get the snickers out of the way. Yes – I am a Rookie at some of these items. However – I am trying to learn and I know when to ask for help – like now .

Banner Rotation:
I have tried some of the scripts to get banners to rotate on my pages - No success yet. I am trying to learn how to do banner rotations so I can advertise and promote. Please help.

• I am using Dreamweaver MX.
• I have created three (3) gifs to use.
• I have copied and pasted a couple of scripts (some in and and some just in ) and none are working.

Now how are they not working? On the simple script, which rotates the banner upon the opening of the page (which is not what I want – but I’m trying to get something to work), it shows a shadow of where the box goes and places the ALT TAG words – but no graphic. Also when you click on the box it goes to the URL indicated – but still – NO GRAPHIC BANNER.

I am not really ready for the FLASH banners yet (I would like to and need to) – but I would like to achieve something like http://www.dynamicdrive.com/ or like the little ad banners to the right -- in the “Webmaster-Forums” in the RIGHT SIDEBAR under the “Our Sponsors”.

Please help me get this right. I am in need of someone who can advise, direct and answer the questions about what I may be doing wrong – until I can get it right.
