I have followed and double checked several instructions on how to do favicons, but I still can't get mine to show up.

Here is the site... http://www.macyelementary.com

If anyone can give me some advice, I'd really appreciate it. Smiling

Thank you!!

It works for me in Netscape 7.x and IE6 (after I bookmark the page) both on WinXP.

I see it as well. Perhaps you're not using a favicon enabled browser? Or you need to clear your cache and shut it down and reopen it?

Works for me in IE6 as well. Do you realise the favicon only works if you put the site into your favourites first?

in mozilla you dont have to bookmark it, it just appears

It is the last thing to load usually thou, text, images, backgrounds, embedded stuff, then favicon, so could very well be timing out,
your banner is 81.3 kb your pic is 66.7kb (are they people?) your backgound image is 43.7 kb (as its black and white it should be a grey scale gif) then you got the banner at the bottom and your code ... thats umm 1+1 = ... ummm, thats a lot Smiling

Works in Opera too. Which browsers are you having this problem with?

I'm using Safari. Mac browser. I downloaded Netscape and it shows up. I emptied my cache in Safari, but still can't get it to show. Not sure what to do next.

The answer was given above - its all to do with your cache - remove it from your favourites - close your browser and reopen it - then delete all cache and internet history - when you re add it to your favourites it will be there - tempermentle little things are favicons.
