"Blanking out" sensitive text on Acrobat

Is it possible to "blank out" the odd piece of text on an Adobe Acrobat document i.e. erase a word or two before circulation?
The scans are imported directly to Acrobat (and not paper captured) and have a wee bit of sensitive text that will need "blanked out/covered up" before circulation by email.
I've heard of expensive plug-ins like Redax that do the job but surely Acrobat must have an erase or permanently paint out option?

FREE software please as the likes of Redax would be BIG money to our organisation.

Sorry but I don't use it. Have you tried contacting their support team?

I searched the official Acrobat forum and the consensus was it can't be done FREE but I was hoping (perhaps optimistically) the wider skillsbase of the WMFs would maybe be able to bail me out Sad

Thanks

Never done this before but maybe you could import the pdf into PhotoShop, erase the words and the export it again to pdf?
