Setting Up Calander Event

Followed the link fro VB.org.
I would like members to be able to post things on the calander that everyone can see (Public Event) , instead of just the admins being able to do this. Can this be done ? any ideas...
TIA Steve

What kind of things? The reason priviledges are required is the same reason they are required to move posts, delete posts, etc. - because they could be abused.

what I'm trying to achieve is, on the calandar button at the top of the Forum if just a member clicks it, it only allows them to post Private events ie only they can see it.
But when you are an Admin it allows you to Post Public events ie all members can see.
I'm trying to make it so that members can post Public events.

We do not currently allow that for the reason Marc explained: It would be abused.

I would be willing to entertain something like that but if I did allow it, I would require the user to have 100+ posts to post an event. This way, I can verify that the user has been here a while, has experience with the community, and will probably post something appropriate. I don't want someone with 0-50 posts making one because it's likely to be something that shouldn't be posted.

You should seek vB hacking support at http://vbulletin.org

If you can't get support over there, it's because you've not shown your a license owner.

Ummm... okay... that made a lot of sense!

Stevie, please calm down. It think the guys were just a little confused about why you were asking that question here as opposed to the vbulleting support forums.

You may detect a "he hasnt got one" if you wish. Because that's exactly what I'm wondering. I personally have a problem providing support to pirates. Expecially for a product I myself have paid for.

I hope you don't take this an an offensive remark. I simply don't know about your license status. Nor is there a way for me to find out. Sad

I'm simply making a general statement that you will get the best support at vbulletin.org and/or vbulletin.com.

stevie_uk,

This forum actually is not in any way a support forum for vBulletin. This question would have been best asked at the vbulletin support forums as it would have been answered much more quickly over there. The post here was a bit out of place which is why you received the response that you did... The majority of us thought you wanted to post a public event on the TWF forums.

Your task can be accomplished very quickly from the control panel of vB. Due to licensing restrictions, I am not going to provide details... The best thing to do is to post your question at the vBulletin support forums... That's what they are there for.
