Site is now running vB3 RC 4.
This upgrade was also performed without first performing a "mock upgrade" on another server. So if you see anything wrong, please let me know ASAP.

I've restarted the second skin I began a few versions ago. Unfortunately, because of changes in the forum software, I've had to start from scratch.
It's currently called "TWF Experimental", as I am experimenting with it. I hope to change the name when I'm done with it, but don't expect me to get that creative.
What I'm trying to accomplish is reducing the clutter (visually) and download time while maintaining the level of information and functionality. If you have any suggestions or see any errors, please let me know.

Oh. I forgot to mention...
I'd like to encourage everyone to update their "Gender" in their profile. I've created some new online/offline icons and I'm using this value to colorize (colourize) them in the new skin.
Beside my name should be a little blue (pink for the ladies, gray for unknown) bust thingy. Solid means online. A hollow outline means offline. And if you can see invisible people (admins, and maybe mods), you'll see a hollow body with a solid head.
Be amazed. Be very amazed. This is my most creative concept yet.

Um um, I can't decide. What looks like pink to me probably looks too blue to you. Better solution would be to change the spatial appearance of the icon to represent male and female, instead of depending on colours. (Like traffic signal lights count on the standard stop-change-go top-down order as well as red-amber-green.) Maybe use the universal male and female icons like you'd see on restroom doors?

d'oh. Select TWF Experimental skin in your Control Panel to see it.
I thought Experimental was default. I must learn to read properly. 
Edit: hm, my partial red-green blindness makes that pink icon look grey to me when I don't focus on it. Oh well.

When [code ] is used, people using IE in Mac see nothing, this was a problem before the upgrade as well.
No longer do I surf TWF at home (using Firebird), I'm at Natcoll and we do everything on Macs so yeah... :S

If you're using Macs, you should be using Safari -- IE/Mac is getting very long in the tooth and should be upgraded, only they stopped production on it over a year ago?

There were some weird scrolling hidden areas before, those have been fixed as well. Also works in IE5/mac.

I don't see how they could work with the hollowing/filling idea. No, maybe some kind of background could be used to indicate status. How about it, Mark?

slight change of subject
I'm using the experimental skin and every time I log on it shows the new thread posted icon next to all of the topics, kinda of confusing as you think every topic has a new post, the icons over power the underlined folders.

What happened to the banner rotation at the top of the page? Can you re-institute that? I believe it was for members with a certain amount of posts...but I don't remember the number.

I know what you mean. I wanted to have a "New Thread" link next to each forum for convenience, so I took the thread_dot_new.gif and changed the dot into a plus. I had the search icon from the postbit, so I just threw that in there too. All that stuff makes for a crowded cell.
Can I get more opinions? Exchange icons for text links? Loose the links alltogether? Re-arange the cell?
