What will not work with sendmail off?

Anything related to email will not work. (ie, reply notification, new post notification, etc.) You really need to bug your host to find out what's up.

I also get hung up when I post a message, and end up waiting for the 500 error. Luckily, it still posts- but others are posting multiple times thinking it isn't working because it hangs.

On a side note, I can't use the moderator options to delete the multiple posts in my forum (or even lock them). It tells me I have the wrong password, but my password works for posts and my profile.

Not to be annoying, but I also noticed the main forum page
http://www.webmaster-forums.com/
has a double frame at the bottom.

The board seems to work faster otherwise, and I see a few nice options that will be helpful. Smiling

(edit)
Just after I posted, I noticed the frames and the posts are fixed now Smiling

John, can you still not delete posts in your forum?

John,
All the slow posting issues have been fixed - all email options are currently down. All down to the host not the forum.

I'm confused about the double frame problem, how did you get there?

Joseph:

I was just now able to delete a test post, I haven't tried to delete a discussion again yet. It seems to be fixed though Smiling

JP:

I don't know how the double frame is coming up. It is strange. When I open the domain in IE5 in my main browser- it gives me a double frame. When I used a new window, it was OK- and if I click the "Forums" link in the bottom frame, it fixes it. But if I refresh- multiple frames. It must be with my browser- your code was just fine.

I'm going to try clearing the IE cache and some other things, maybe that will clear it up.

Thanks John,
Keep me updated with this in case it is a global problem (anyone else experience it?)

JP,
I am experiencing the double footer problem as well... I am using IE5 though like John. I have found it easier to go directly to the forum page and skip the entire footer page... Then I can work with the cookie reset as well. It is working out much better for me now.

I will ditch the frames then, and figure something else out.

The new forums load REALLY slow! I end up pressing submit multiple times making it post multiple times.

Hmmm... I haven't had any problems with slowness. I have found that the new forums load MUCH faster! I have waited on average 1 second for anything to happen, including making a post. I will admit however that there are some things I really don't like about this forum that the UBB had.

I tried to submit this but it told me a Internal Server 500 had occured so I submitted again. It looks like it posted, just don't know what caused the error. Might want to look into that JP.

Something is up with the sendmail program on the server. The program stops everytime it reaches that part of the code. JP, you may want to ask your host what is wrong with sendmail.
