This is an example of why frames suck. They're kind of obscuring the rest of the page, making it hard to focus on the real content. Lose them! The navbar isn't bad, although I would tone down that glowing effect. Is that logo supposed to be AV???? You should change that V part so it looks like a V not an upside-down A...
I will look through some old floppies and see if I can find a copy of my first one... I'm guessing that it's not there but you never know...

thats pretty good for a first site, my first site used all centered text, multi sized fonts, heaps of 's and I think I must of been addicted to animated gifs as they were everywhere, cant forget the loud textured background and table borders, sadly i dont have it posted anymore, nor the graphics, only have the html pages, which you cant read cause no background image (never used the bgcolor to suit background lol) and heaps of pages with no naviagation, only next links

Welcome to TWF DevelopmentAid. This thread is supposed to be for old, old sites as kind of a jokey thing. As this is your current site and you want comments then please post a new thread for it in the critique section where it'll get the proper treatment. Please make sure you review some of the others there first though

You want me to post my first site when I haven't even got the guts to get MY current business' site critiqued?!!
Gladly though the company went bust (not because of my design etc!!) so my first site is forever "down the gurgler!!" I might be able to scrounge it up in my backups, but I don't think you guys would appreciate the magic and essence of it!! LOL!!!
It was all different shades of grey and there was something to do with frames that I am still embarrassed over. Maybe with enough therapy and support from each other we can all get over the embarrassment of our first sites!!!

Well, I looked and I couldn't find my first one. I may try to re-create it someday...

My first site no longer exists and I don't have the source files
Even though it's pretty embarrassing, here's my second web design: oralradiology.com (those were their corporate colours!!)
Man this was humbling...

Oh my goodness.....my first site is LONG gone but Suzanne could tell you some wild stories about my textured background and a photo of a Poppy
ROFLMAO Actually I think I have that image on a backup disk around here someplace.
My first site was a family genelogy site. It's still out there but doesn't function all that well because I simply don't have time to futz with it. The design is circa 1999 I believe.

that's the archive (some links won't work) of the 1998/9 incarnation of my personal site. Some pieces are from 1996, however (you'll have to find them, lol, if you're interested!).
I shudder to think about it. I was thinking about fixing it up, but frankly, that seems like one of the tasks you have to do in hell, so I'm just going to leave it as it is indefinitely.
P.S. Rayna's site had striped wallpaper and framed images of her ancestors, and poppy that was in a round bit and sat on the striped wallpaper. What a challenge that was! But we became friends, so I'd say it was worth it.

Well outdoorsman260, I see a nice repeating leaves-background...and then my system kinda hangs on your first site. Hope you did improve yourself
Rayna: That's actually pretty good for a first site in my opinion.
Suzanne: I've seen that one back then! Nice one.
Anyone else?
