Ha ha ha. Yeah right. There are 24 hours in a day, you sleep for 6-8 of those (often much less), which leaves 16-18 hours awake. Leave one hour for eating dinner and cleaning up, and maybe another hour for watching TV with me (if I'm lucky). You're still at 14+ (minus showering, using the washroom, dealing with the cat etc.). You'd only be down to 10 if I made you do yard work or something
For me, It's usually 7-8. I work for 7 hours and on a typical day I'll only check email at home. I have lots of other things to do and I'd get bored and/or mentally ill if I spent all day on the computer.

That's a scary question of which I try not to think about
. I work at my computer (unless I'm on a service call or something), I do most of my school work at my computer (3 out of my 5 classes are distance learning), and my free time...one word - Stumble! Also, I have a TV tuner card w/ MythTV, so watching TV technically doesn't take away from time on my computer.
So ya, I would say 12 hours easy +/- a few.

Well, I spend 12-16 hours a day "on" the computer in the usual sense of being near one. However I often spend many hours physically away from any computer, whilst thinking in much the same way as I would were I normally operating one. Even when I'm normally operating a computer, I spend a lot (the majority?) of my time thinking rather than physically interacting with the machine. So to remove the machine but retain the state of mind should count as "computer time" too -- meaning I can spend anywhere up to 20 hours a day or occasionally all 24 hours in a day on it.

Well, I go to school five days a week and work four shifts a week, so when I have a night or day off, I'm typically on the computer about a total of 2-3 hours off and on all night with increases when I'm working on a specific website or new idea.

Hmm... I'm on the computer a lot during the day but it's highly interrupted time. I've got my laptop on the table by the couch and pop on and off a lot. I don't get much concentrated computer time, though, unless I manage to get the boys napping at the same time.

9 am to about midnight.. 15 hours give or take
about half of it spent here, not "working"
ooh - I stay away from all nighters unless absolutely necessary - in the 80s I once worked 36 hours to edit the dubbing for a film before the producer flew to Spain to finish it - I was hallucinating at the end, very detailed work on a strange movie Harvey Keitel would prefer you don't see (IMDB rating 3.4 out of 10)
at least 1/2 hour each morning on Skype with my colleague in India discussing "when will the producer pay me?"

I am almost on most of the time. If i am not online or on my laptop then i am online or on my mobile phone which might as well be a computer.
I tend to spend my time with family, food, education and sleep.
Other than that, i am online or testing codes and seeing which i like best..

I am now spending less hours on the computer, as not only do i have my personal life; with a fiancee now...
But i have to do some written personal projects, which are website draw up's, storyboards and planning information... (Thanks APC for the article!)
I spend most of my time, talking to clients online, spreading the word about my web hosting company, managing blog's and websites and also checking and replying to emails.
I tend to be busy now, but i should be back to my normal, "most nights" here soon.
It is 09.04AM, i have been online since about 07.00AM.
I get up nice and early and go to sleep past midnight, my computer just hibernates and then i defrag it every two weeks.

At the moment, I am on the computer a lot more than I used to be because I have so many work projects to do, and they take a lot of time.
Most of them, I have to do and invest money into and then I get the money back with more.
I am working a big links directory at the moment, and should have it all done in a few weeks(Yet to be seen)...
I shall sell AD space there after I have lots of visitors on a regular basis; cheaper rates for TWF, GeekPoint, and Digital Point forums...

For me it averages to about 6 hours a day. But I tend to view the time spent differently, depending on what I am using the computer for. For instance, when I write fiction, I don't log onto the internet expect for the occasional Dictionary.com reference. When I am doing research or other work, I'm mostly on the internet. It's the second type of work that I'm trying to limit, because you get most easily distracted then.
