As mentioned elsewhere, I'm working on an article for beginners about web development software. I am including a small bit about Firebug and other browser add-ons. I have quite a few others that I like to use as well, such as:

  • FirePicker (colour picker)
  • GridFox
  • MeasureIt
  • Screen Grab
  • Web Developer Toolbar

What are your favourites? Maybe I'll just link to this forum topic instead!

I'm working on an article for beginners about web development software. I'd like to include some recommendations for FTP clients to try. I don't normally use FTP if I can help it (prefer to connect directly through natulius). For those of you who use FTP software, what is your favourite client and why?

Good responses may be quoted in the article!

This may be the best htaccess resource I've ever run across:

Ultimate htaccess Article

There are some really neat tips in there, including...

- Forcing certain file types to download instead of displaying within browser
- Search engine friendly redirects
- Preventing hotlinking and bandwidth stealing

Very cool tips! Post here if you find something new or cool you didn't know about ahead of time.

Hi guys, I'll keep this short.. I swapped my co.uk domain for a .com, and have a question...

Which would be a better long-term domain in terms of memorability, relevance and and SEO?

In general, which would perform better as an all-round website?

www.songzilla.co.uk or www.songzillamusic.com ?

I would appreciate your theories aswel as hard facts Smiling

Thanks in advance.

Hi. Just letting people know I have started a new development website which aims at giving new developers a helping hand. The site is still quite new, so content is scarce at the moment. I will be updating it on a daily basis, and now the forums are up and running I am sure it will be a great hub for developers.

Any thoughts on the idea or design would be appreciated.
