Linking Multiple DNS & Hosts?

This is an odd question for sure. It's quite complicated, so I'm sure you will all enjoy it. I'm not sure which topic folder applies, so here we are. The idea I have may be off the wall, but if so, this is the right place to put it! First off, I don't have the thousands of dollars each month to support a dedicated server and I don't have the Tech knowledge to avoid psychotic drugs if I were to take the leap into world of Private Box Lunches....but, it was a nice thought....it's just a little too soon in the game for that kind of commitment....unless, of course, YOU are a VC with a love of Offroad....

The scenario assembles kinda like this....I have 3 webhosts I want to use for my webhosting company, BeamerComm.Net and the new TexasOffroad.net project and associated non-profit and commercial websites. I have an hierarchy and inter-relation like this....BCN hosts TON (and non-profit Associates) as a freesite project...TON also directs Assoc/others in the commercial side of the Texas Offroad scene to BCN...BCN sells space to businesses that support TON/Assoc....the whole mess sponsors information databases and forums for several dozen Offroad User Groups in Texas - some stored on TON webspace and some linked to us.

At Communitech, one account for the 25 subdomains I can offer to the clubs/orgs...one for the 25 motocross tracks in the state...one for the 25 other ATV/Jeep playgrounds.

At WebAxxs, a Portal account to allow the members of the orgs/clubs to put up little communities of homepages and email and etc....and to offer free forums and chat goodies. And an Enterprise account to hold the various stores and ecommerce the clubs/orgs operate.

Another 1000Mb space I have at an un-named site that I want to keep 'cause it's so cheap...ie: $17 mo....Access to it and joining together this site to all of them is part of the redirect/DNS problem.

With all these variables to consider, the question to you is this....How can I connect the freesites at Communitech...to the communities and commercial sites at Webaxxs...to any additional space we, or our associates, carry on other servers...without having to create multiple DNS? Is my only solution to have a TexasOffroad I and TexasOffroad II and TexasOffroad III and etc for all the servers we are spread out on? Can I use a redirect from the "Mother-site" and use some sort of sub-directory DNS on the "Satellite-sites"?

Is it reasonable, or sensible, to try and use storage space on multiple servers? For instance, if I put a large Forum(s) on site #3 and link to it from site #2 because the space on #2 isn't large enough and the cost of additional space is twice that of #3? And then, use another site #4 to support a database application that both #2 and #3 can link into?

I told you it was complicated! If I had the money, I'd simply plop down $20-50K and be into it solid. But, we all know that if you want the VCs to notice you and give you the six or seven figure bankrolls, you gotta build the prototype of the thing with a four figure bankroll first!

Have some fun with this one and let me know how you would do it if that's all you had to work with. If I don't do it now with what I've got on hand, some corporate suit who doesn't know squat about Texas Offroad is going to bankroll the same sort of idea and screw it all up.....yeah....later....Bobby
