I was #1 on google with my site dictim.com when searching for dictim for quite a while. This is still true on all other major search engines, but I seem to have completely disappeared from google. I don't think the site even makes the first top 10 pages, which makes almost no sense, as dictim is not exactly a common word.

Any help much appreciated.

how long has your site been online? unless you are online for more than 6 months, I wouldn't worry about it, it's part of how google works.

you can counter it by getting more sites to link to you and adding more content, but don't expect immediate results.

Yes it has been online for more than 6 months. That's what is so odd about it. My site must easily have the biggest number of the word 'dictim' compared to any other google indexes, as it is just a misspelliing/corruption of dictum.

In fact its more than that, google knows about dictim.com in that it is a registered domain, but no more. Absolutely no searches match anything from my site any more. I guess I could try and email them...

I would guess this is a temporary thing. It has been documented before where people have the #1 site and then disappears from Google. Some call it the sandbox effect. I would just continue working on your backlinks, it will change.

I had my website http://www.cakesbyann.co.uk on the first and second pages on Google and other related search engines for over seven months, when without any indication it dropped.

I was second out of 3.7 million for the search term "Cakes" and about 11 for "Wedding cakes", I was also No 1 for "Wedding cakes UK"

I realise that Google has expanded its index but all my competitors who were below me are all still there.

I have tried to perfect my website by optimizing but when I check my competitors websites, as I always do, In my opinion their websites need some work but they still rank above mine.

May I also say that nothing has changed on their websites for months and the content is still the same.

I would appreciate some help with this before changing all my website and getting nowhere.

I'll be back
