* First, you may want to submit your site to hundreds of search engines. but i prefer you may submit your site to directories. Much better if you submit to a free directory site.
* Join to forums, you can create a signature for your site.
* Create Blog and use your keywords. You can also do blog commenting to a related site.

Friend, definitely i use Link building technique than other.
I will do my best to get link as much as i can. Cause it can affect to your PR and Traffic in your site.
But we can not ignore off page optimization. We should do it.

I would like to add some more information with my knowledge. Bookmarking would help us to drive instant traffic, but the links which we get from that are not permanent. articles, directories, press release etc would give us permanent links, but delayed in traffic.

In the of page optimization Forum signature is the best ways. ANBd submitting to the SE is a waste of time.. after submit also will not get any traffic or link from SE. The top SEs like G,yahoo, Msn will find any new site without submitting

Well, imo, if you speak of Quality links, free directories is not an option. Articles and maybe some blogs - yes.

In my experience, there are no more the BEST ONE, but all (the combination of all link building methods) are the best ways to get more traffic. However, from my experience, I don't think, it is very easy to get approval for the directory submissions, as far as there are lots of directories take lots of time or sometimes, they do not approve even. So, I never recommend directory submissions, but you can go for all other ways.
