Hello there, I have been trying to find out if there is a way to see the SERP history over time for my website. I currently record the daily ranking but often miss days when I am not in the office and over the weekend. Is there a way to see it over time?
Thanks in advance.
Toby

I guess that you'd better do it yourself. I personaly haven't seen such kind tools. I personaly run my own calendar for that.

Hi Tobyfrost,
There are loads of such tools available on the internet - some are free (http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/keywords/) but many you have to pay for. Try your favourite search engine for: 'serp tracking' , 'website serp monitoring' and many variations of these keyphrases.
However, and I cannot stress this enough, I would highly advise NOT using such tools. Google TOS specifically states, no automated queries, which is exactly what all those tools do. By using a software that is installed on your pc, you might - if you have a static ip address or use google specific services leave a trace of what site you are monitoring and it may then get you banned.

The best thing to do is conduct a weekly analysis of your website that includes your SERP's, PR and backlinks (never minds Google crawls once in every 120 days),your alexa rankings and your reciprocal links.SERP's are changed once a week basically during the weekends when the net traffic is low thereby enabling the Google spiders to crawl smoothly.See when your website is cached and keep a record of the interval of days for the next cache this will enable you to know when your SERP'S are going to be updated.

Thanks for your input - I had a feeling that it may not be such a good thing to get a program to do that google-wize.
Thanks for your help and clarification.

Best thing to do is get registered on Google webmaster as this shows your top ten quires for each month and the position you are in for each.
Thing is fella to be honest if your checking serps everday your checking to often, you will always get different results here and there even cheing within just a couple of hours, this is due to Google having so many datacenters and they tend to have different sets of results on different datacenters, this is due to them not all using the very latest info availiable as it is not possiable to keep them all bang on upto date all the time.
this is even more of a problem when they are doing updates and testing out a few different algos on a few different sets of datacenters.
So basicly if you miss it for a couple of days dont worry mate you not really missing anything important and you should try not to check to often as your just wasting your time.
