One of our departments is no longer carrying a certain product. I have removed all references to the product from our pages, but it's still showing up in search engines. How do I remove us from that particular product listing without removing us completely? Will it eventually fade away?

From what little I understand it will eventually fade away - but you do not want to have that page removed. It could mess your other rankings up.

But we're getting a lot of inquiries about that product and we won't carry it again--we need people to know we don't carry it anymore.

Put that in a robots.txt file on your server. It can take some time to get it removed but it should be quicker then doing nothing. You can find more information regarding how to do this at the following location.

Hope that helps,
