"PHP, SEO and Spiders -- Oh My!"
a couple of years ago an agency contracted me to write an article on PHP and SEO (download Word version) for Apollo Hosting.
When I delivered it, I was informed it was "ghost" writing and so I took the $$ but not the credit.
It has been widely distributed - it's pretty basic, reminds the reader of standard SEO practices and discusses some PHP-specific issues.

I'm not familiar with that book and I've never heard of Jeri Ledford. SEOmoz is a good site for quality resources. I'd recommend at least flipping through their Beinner's guide and Google Ranking factors. Subscribe to their blog if you want to know more.

A stupid blog you should never read.
See the difference? If you would like test this on a site you don’t care too much about and take an unbiased look at it in the results page. You’ll notice your eye naturally gets draw right too it. The biggest difference you will notice is the immediate traffic jump. Once the engines update your title tag in the SERPS you’ll instantly notice more traffic from each phrase you rank for. I really don’t mean to be selling you on this technique, but for how simple this technique is, the results are too amazing to not witness yourself.

I was just reading over some of these again, and really appreciate that there are so many resources out there. For instance, I've been wondering if I should republish an article on another site, and through a series of links from seobook, I got to Google's page about that, and it explained it clearly enough for me to make a decision to just go for it.
