I have a new site
.com
and bought a few other names that are simalar. What should I do with them? 302 redirect? Some kind of advertising to the site? What's proper these days.

You could use one domain name for a blog on the related and with its help to generate traffic for your site.

You'd want to use a 301 redirect - that's a permament redirect to another address. Here's an article that explains the difference between 301 and 302 redirects:

Putting content on those sites would probably be a bad idea unless you have a really good reason for it. You want all your content on one domain because that way all your "link juice" goes to that site and isn't spread around on different domains.

Put related content on them and interlink them (it would be good to have them on separate IPs).

I agree with Megan use a 301 direct for all of them - if you put content on the other domains not only will you have to spend time managing and promoting them but if the content is replicated Google may penalise you for it.

Well right now I have no link juice!
The entire site is .php software and is absolutely horrible with search engines. So I thought of maybe using a similar name for the .html of the site. Pages I can actually build to be recognized by the SE.

What do you mean by that? Creating another version of the site (same content) on a diffrent domain? Also a bad idea - not good to have the same content on different sites. Google will drop all but one of them.

No, I know better than that... I mean having everything on another site in html index, contact, information, etc.. and links to the auctions (all .php site) with no index, contact, information etc, just the auctions.

So why can't you do that all on the same site?
It sounds like this auction software you're using is going to be a problem. It's important for those listings to be se-friendly.
