I have noted that my websites are very well ranked in yahoo and google, the daily visit are quite god (best in years) but my rank in alexa is very very low and going down.... how this is possible?

AFAIK the Alexa Rank only has to do with who has the Alexa toolbar installed. That's how they get their counts. And how many regular people install the Alexa toolbar? Not many. The people who do are mainly SEO's and marketing people who care what that number says. So, if you really think it's important to improve that number then make your site more appealing to SEO's.
I wouldn't worry about it at all - if your SERPs and traffice levels are good then there's no reason to be concerned about Alexa IMO. Or are you trying to sell ads?

I agree that alexa is not trustable at all, regretfully for everyone that give value on the website and eventually sell ads it will consider it....

Alexa rating may go down in spite of general increase in traffic, if the
overall traffic on the web increases at a rate greater than that of your
web-site. If the rating is of concern to you, you can install the Alexa
toolbar on your PC. Your views to your own web-site will lift your rating.

To increase alexa rank, try to increase your traffic first to have higher alexa rank.

Alexa rank is useless, many people sadly still consider it in buying websites or when valuing their websites. I personally would not worry about it, no search engines use that rank to alter your SERP. You can safely say its worthless using the alexa toolbar, it will actually slow down IE!

Alexa ranking display estimated traffic only and it is not accurate. Don't rely on alexa. Better try to improved your SE rankings than bothering yourself to improved alexa rankings.

Increase your traffic so that Alexa Ranking will increase but i has nothing to do with SERPs and can be manipulated why focus on Alexa Ranking.

IMO, Alexa ranking doesn't really matter that much. You should be more focused on getting targeted traffic that converts. You get better revenue from your site from the right visitors to your site. PPC, targeted backlinks, SEO, forum posting, etc. should help you get the right traffic to your site done religiously

alexa ranking can give you some indication of seasonality of your website based fluctuations...

you shouldn't rely on alexa ranking..i think it doesn't give an accurate measurement of traffic....
