Can you be more specific? There are so very many skills that are involved in the profession that you will need to find your own area of interest, or you will just be swamped. You mention "marketing" - but there are many technical and non-technical skills involved in any area of on-line sales, if that's what you mean.
What part of web development are you interested in?

Forums are really informative, seochat, digitalpoint and this forum have some good information posted now and then, also I wouldnt go out there believing everything "SEO masters" say must of then dont want you to rank or dont do as they preach

I don't think there's one easy answer, or one know-it-all source you can go to to be safe. You have to keep looking around, find trustworthy sources that have good rankings and have a good reputation. And then document whatever works for you. You have to keep searching and learn new perspectives. Because there are many respectable sources out there that disagree on different topics within internet marketing and seo.

Yes am also suggesting you forums. Actually its depends on your field and area, but in forums you get what you want if anyone brings in a wrong suggestion, many people are out there to kick against him and gives better solution.
So forums are great to learn stuffs.

Yes, I think forum and blog is the best resource for you to learn. However for getting knowledge you must have a target what do you want actually? You must have a choice to focus on one business. And from this one, you'll get many problem step by step, so that you could learn from this. So I say that you can learn naturally.

The only way you can learn marketing is by constantly testing things out - things based on knowledge, but it's your task to draw conclusions and make decisions. Once you have a solid basis you can proceed from (forums are good for sharing, but here all the same you have to do the filtering) you can switch to some free-style - and by this make adjustments to what really works and what is not so effective.
