I have a new site appearing on google.com, but on google.co.uk it has never appeared and is about 11 months old now, however the site is not really aimed at a US customer....how can I get Google UK to recognise the site exists?

(it is a .com site, the .co.uk domain is not available at the moment, though I'm hoping that they will sell to me at some point)

Is it hosted on a UK server or in the states? I'm sure they take physical location of the server into consideration when deciding where to put it...

I am not sure about it. I have heard about the same - physical location of server. Would like to know if something else is there.

Hosted in the US for random client reasons...

Main question is - how do I get Google UK to index it at all.....it doesn't seem to want to.

If you are using a .com name on a site hosted in the US chances are that it will be flagged as being a US site an not appear in the uk results.

The most reliable way around this is to simply move the site to a UK host. This usually rectifies the problem within a few months.

I agree that if you want to be listed in Uk search results your host should ideally be in the uk.

Though I find we get alot of hits in the uk from people searching in google.com for "keyword UK" as well as people searching in google.co.uk for simply "keyword" . Perhaps you could optimise with this in mind to draw in more hits from the uk?

do you mean that the site request site:yoursite.com don't show your site in the uk-google?
that is strange because they share all servers no matter which country. in the search for keywords it may be different but not in the site request. my sites are in all google donains listet, even in google.cn and i have not much chinese content on my sites and chinese servers as well Cool
