hi all,
my site, bloew, is just 1 week old. Does that alone mean I'm not indexed?
Using webmaster tools, verifying the site and checking for problems etc there is no info at all listed for my site.
I know google has crawled pages that link to my site (eg a blog of mine on wordpress and local classified sites) so do they just choose not to index it because it's brand new or is it likely to be banned for some reason?
I've checked the code is good etc, linked from related sites only, no outgoing links...
cheers for your expertise..

I just read somewhere that someone did a study with two new sites... the first one he got links to via commenting on blogs, the second one he used a "search engine submission service". The first site showed up in the google index within a few days, the second site took over a month to show up in the index. The moral - get links and let google find you naturally... I don't know if this is really true but it makes sense to me.

Its true that the search engines like to find new content and having links from other sites means that they are giving google a route to visit your site. Why not use both which the experiment should also have don't submit to the search engines whilst at the same time getting links from other sites.

Have you checked with the site: command?
Getting indexed basically involves submitting an xml sitemap and acquiring backlinks for the search engine to pick up a new site naturally. The best option for that is probably the social media, or that could be any other frequently crawled web page.

Looks like both of the sites in your signature are indexed. It's usually just a matter of time. No need to worry too much at this stage.

Hi Ranga,
It seems that your sites is now being indexed by the search engine. As what other said if you got knowledge in SEO then better promote your site.
And if you got upcoming site that you wished to be indexed faster, try submitting it to social bookmarking sites. Just my 2 cents.

How can you be so sure about that. How can you say that it will need three to six months.
If you will do your SEO work properly then it could take 1 or maximum 2 week. Google dont too much time to index any site like yahoo and bing

Give google more time on indexing your site. For some it takes 1 month before google index the site and some only 1 day. It depends on your back links actually.
